How we work with you:
Initial Meetings
We meet with you to determine your requirements and the role we will play in your project. We might work
at your site to supplement your R&D staff or work off-site on relatively independent components of the
system. We find a way to work that is adapted to your people and your project.
Requirements and Functional Specs (R&FS)
We prepare R&FS for the sub-system we will develop. You approve R&FS as presented or with modifications.
Top-level design (TLD)
Once the R&FS have been approved, we develop and present a TLD. Again, we discuss the design together
until you buy in and approve it as is or with modifications.
Prototyping
Depending on the subsystem involved, we may develop a simulation or a prototype of it.
We analyze the data produced by the simulation or your feedback about the prototype and use this
information for the next step.
Detailed Design
We prepare a detailed design document that covers all aspects of what we will develop - including
mechanical, electrical, electronic and software components. Where appropriate, we address
safety-critical design issues. We would ensure FDA-compliance for medical systems.
Development
Depending on the work arrangement, we develop our sub-sytems in conjunction with or parallel
to your staff.
System Integration and Testing
As the sub-systems near completion, system integration and system testing begin. Development,
integration, and testing go through a number ot iterations as faults are identified and corrected.
Beta Units and Beta-testing
When we both agree that the system is ready for testing by specially selected real end-users, we
install beta systems at their sites. We correct the faults identified during beta testing.
Standards' Certification
When necessary, we can arrange for and guide you through the certification process required to meet
standards relevant to your product. For example, hardware need to pass RF, UL, and/or CSA standards.
Delivery of Ready-to-Manufacture Units
When our sub-systems have been tested, demonstrated and approved by you, we deliver them in whatever
form is appropriate as a template for manufacturing. For example, for software we would provide source
and executable files as well as documentation if that was a requirement.
